I grew up near the top of a small dead-end, residential street in North Adams. At the end of my street began a path which followed a brook and led (among other places) to a beautiful cascading waterfall surrounded by dense hardwood forest. This entire area was relatively small, and was bounded on the distant perimeter by two or three other streets on which many of my childhood friends lived.

As young people in that neighborhood, we would spend endless days and nights exploring and enjoying this natural area we were so fortunate to live near. It became the center of our youthful social endeavors, as well as an escape from the paved, rule-laden adult world which surrounded us.

Yet, only as an adult looking backwards, can I fully appreciate the degree to which my life's path has been shaped by the time I spent in those woods, and the extent to which that pristine natural area has had positive influences on me in physical, emotional, and moral-spiritual ways.

With this foundation beneath me, and with the support of friends, family, and a host of talented businesspeople I have created a small business providing resources to people in pursuit of quality wilderness experiences. My "Goal" is to foster an appreciation for natural places and to promote healthy life choices while having fun every step of the way.

I hope you enjoy my small contributions to Berkshire Hiking and, when you find yourself near the Northern end of Berkshire County please stop by and say "Hello".
